The Neustaedter Baroque Quarter Dresden
At Neustaedter Baroque Quarter history and presence of Dresden are impressively connected in one of the most beautiful residential and business districts of this town. August the Strong built his „New Kingstown“ right here more than 300 years ago – just a bridge away from the famous historic centre on the other side of the river Elbe. The baroque town houses, twisty alleyways and atmospheric courtyards are enchanting up until today. Where Canaletto lived, Goethe and Schiller visited, Schopenhauer philosophized and Mozart composed, today you will find numerous galleries and antique shops, as well as fashion, jewellery and interior designers and gourmet restaurants next to rustic pubs. Small but excellent museums and the oldest civil theatre of Germany are located here. Nearly all of the stores are owner operated and impress with individuality, quality and the typical hostility of Saxony. A charming world that invites to wonder, dwell and enjoy.
Let yourself be swept away.
